Eye Lids
The eyelids play a critical role in protecting the eye from foreign debris, managing tear distribution, and helping to regulate light intake. Issues involving the eyelids can often lead to discomfort, redness, or chronic irritation of the eye surface.
Common Eyelid Conditions
- Blepharitis: Inflammation of the eyelid margins, often caused by clogged oil glands or bacterial growth.
- Chalazion: A firm, painless lump on the eyelid caused by a blocked oil gland.
- Styes: A painful, red bump that forms on the edge of the eyelid, typically resulting from an infected gland.
